菊地成孔プロデュースのメジャー・デビュー・アルバムが話題の市川愛。ボストン在住、プロデューサー/マルチ・インストゥルメント、YUKI KANESAKAのソロ・プロジェクト名であるmonolog。その2人が共同制作したアルバム「LIME LIGHT」は、所謂シティ・ポップスの範疇を越えた、タイムレスな日本人アーティスト達の名曲をシルキーなR&Bに仕立てた内容になっている。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　今回はこのアルバムから待望の7インチをカット。
SIDE Aにはフィシュマンズの名曲「いかれたBABY」：90年代のACID JAZZやグランドビートを彷彿させる、まさにいまなソウルアレンジに仕上がっている。SIDE Bには山下達郎の「PAPER DOLL」こちらはmonologの代名詞とも言える、HIPHOPのエッセンスを加えたファンクネス溢れる仕上がり。　

Ai Ichikawa's major label debut album, produced by Naruyoshi Kikuchi, has been getting a lot of attention. monolog is the solo project name of Boston-based producer YUKI KANESAKA.

The album "LIME LIGHT," co-produced by these two artists, is a silky R&B album of classic songs by timeless Japanese artists that transcends the category of so-called "city pops.
